Sustainable Entrepreneurial Storytelling in the Caribbean: Digital Storytelling to Empower Trinidad and Tobago’s Cocoa Sector.
Storytelling is essential to humankind, while globalisation and technological advancements are enabling the combining of both oral storytelling techniques and modern technologies, creating the medium of ‘digital story telling’. In this chapter, we explore and elaborate on how digital storytelling can be combined with sustainable entrepreneurship to help empower communities and ultimately improve their environmental, social and economic welfare. We explore this phenomenon through the case of Trinidad and Tobago’s cocoa sector. In doing so, the chapter highlights the contextual nature of sustainable entrepreneurship, uncovering alternative forms and approaches within the setting of cocoa farming in Trinidad.
